Opening The Registers
Go into the Point of Sale (Register)
For the register you are opening, click New Session. For this example, we are using Register 1 (the register we open with $200 cash).
You will then see the system caching the information about customers and products for the session. This will take a few seconds so just wait until the Cashier box comes up.
Hit the "Select Cashier" button.
and then select Cashier
NOTE: If you are opening a register with no cash, ensure the opening cash is 0. Change it to 0 and hit open session if it has some other value. If you get promoted with a message about creating an entry for profit/loss, just OK. If there is cash in the cash drawer....
Once at the Opening Cash Control screen, you will hit the little calculator button to count the money you are putting in the drawer.
Just fill in the number of coins and bills that you are putting in the drawer. The system currently does not have a spot for rolls of coins, so remember, if you have rolls of coins, you have to add those to your count. Rolls of pennies and dimes have 50 coins each; rolls of nickles and quarters have 40 coins each. Once you have counted and have a $200 drawer, hit Confirm.
The register is now open and ready to accept transactions.
